FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, namely, to main ship gas turbine units. Main ship gas turbine unit comprises a gas turbine engine and connected to it by a spring passing through the engine exhaust pipe, with membrane end, with axial compliance, couplings on it, gear reducer with herringbone gears and wheels on driving, intermediate and output shafts arranged in bearings. In gear reducer, herringbone gear on drive shaft and mating gear wheel on intermediate shaft are made in form of half-herringbone gears, which are spaced along periphery symmetrically relative to common plane of symmetry located perpendicular to axes of shafts and passing in the middle of their length. Drive and intermediate shafts are arranged in bearings with possibility of axial movement, in the middle between half-herringbone gears of gear wheel on intermediate shaft there is a herringbone gear, and mating chevron gear wheel is made on output shaft, fixed against axial movement by radial thrust bearing.
EFFECT: enabling exclusion of possible axial forces action on the propeller shaft, which occur during torque transmission by the reducer from the power shaft of the gas turbine engine.
