FIELD: testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to test equipment, in particular, to equipment used for bench tests for collision of steering columns of vehicles. Device comprises a device for holding the test object, a gun, a projectile and a setter of the value of kinetic energy of the projectile. Projectile is made in the form of a steel straight circular cylinder, one of the ends of which is equipped with a cylindrical seat. Gun comprises body, body channel, as well as a spring-loaded pusher movably based in the body channel, having a mandrel formed on the end of the pusher in the direction of projectile throwing. Pusher mandrel and the projectile seat are configured to locate the projectile on the mandrel at static position of the pusher and to form a motion landing between the radial surfaces of the projectile seat and the pusher mandrel. Test object retention device is formed by two trusses and a crossbar made with possibility of holding the tested steering column on the projectile throwing plane and at a vertical angle, value of which is typical for standard carrier of steering column, but is opposite, relative to horizon, by sign.
EFFECT: possibility of testing the crash function of the steering column with high objectivity of the obtained data, as well as compactness of the stand both in the test mode and during storage of its components in the interval between tests.
