SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pneumatic impact machines and can be used in construction, mining and machine building. Pneumatic hammer comprises a cylindrical housing, a working tool held by a retainer relative to the cylindrical housing, a handle with an inlet device, partition with an inlet throttle, an outlet channel and an axial hole in which a tube is installed and fixed with a longitudinal outlet channel and a radial outlet channel extending from its side surface, annular outlet chamber with an outlet channel formed by a partition, a cylindrical body and a handle body, a prechamber having the possibility of communicating by means of an inlet channel with a compressed air network, striker with a through axial channel for passing said tube, dividing the cylindrical housing cavity into a working stroke chamber located on the partition side, having the possibility of constant communication with the prechamber by means of an inlet throttle in the partition, and an idle stroke chamber located on the side of the working tool, having the possibility of intermittent communication by means of radial and longitudinal outlet channels in the tube and an outlet channel in the partition, with an outlet to the annular outlet chamber and by means of an outlet channel in the handle body with an atmospheric chamber formed by the handle body and the air deflector ring, wherein in the cylindrical housing on the side of the idle stroke chamber a groove is made, and a bypass channel having the possibility of interconnecting the working and idle stroke chambers, wherein the bypass channel is made on the side surface of the tube in the form of a drainage screw channel-slot with the formation of beads and slots with a constant depth, and radial outlet channel in tube is made in collar without possibility of its connection with grooves in position of hammer resting on working tool, wherein the cross-sectional area of the drainage screw channel-slot is shaped to an isosceles trapezoid while the slot depth does not exceed half of the tube wall thickness.
