FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processes of cleaning gases from hydrogen sulphide. Method of cleaning gases from hydrogen sulphide is carried out by contacting the gas with calcium hydroxide. Gas is passed through 5–10 wt. % suspension of calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2 to obtain hydrosulphide Ca(HS)2, which is exposed to contact with sulphur dioxide SO2 at temperature of up to 40 °C at pH=8 to form calcium thiosulphate and colloidal sulphur. After purification of calcium thiosulphate CaS2O3 by reaction with sodium sulphate Na2SO4, sodium thiosulphate Na2S2O3 and gypsum Ca(SO)4 are obtained. Treated waste water is recycled to production process.
EFFECT: invention provides complete extraction of hydrogen sulphide from gases, resulting in production of sulphur, gypsum, sodium thiosulphate, wherein neutralized waste water is used repeatedly (water recycling); solving the environmental problem of decontaminating hydrogen sulphide with obtaining liquid chemical products.
