FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery. Skin incision 3–5 cm long is made 2–4 cm below the projection of the transverse sinus and 2–4 cm medial to the mastoid process. Milling hole is applied. Dura mater is punctured. Intracranial pressure sensor is calibrated. Distal end of the intracranial pressure sensor is immersed into the cerebellar hemisphere to depth of 1.5–3 cm. Proximal end of the sensor is brought out through the skin counteropening and fixed to the skin. That is followed by continuous measurement of intracranial pressure in a posterior cranial fossa.
EFFECT: method enables to provide reliable measurement of the level of intracranial pressure in the posterior cranial fossa in patients with pathological formations of the posterior cranial fossa both before and after the operation, perform more accurate monitoring of the patient's condition, correct the intensive therapy, reduce the risk of infectious complications.
