FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurosurgery. A retrosigmoid retrocondylar approach to aneurysms of the posterior inferior cerebellar artery is made. The posterior ring of the great occipital foramen is additionally resected herein up to the occipital condyle.
EFFECT: method allows for the approach to aneurysms of the posterior inferior cerebellar artery in the acute haemorrhaging period, early proximal control, minimised traction of the cerebellar hemisphere, improved imaging of the structures of the posterior cranial fossa, sanitation of the fourth ventricle from blood clots and restored cerebrospinal fluid circulation, effective intervention, lower number of associated intraoperative and postoperative complications, and ensured good recovery of patients with aneurysms of the posterior inferior cerebellar artery in the acute haemorrhaging period.
