FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sheet forming and can be used for cutting sheet metal in form of tape roll or strip into workpieces having asymmetric contour. During cutting, workpiece contours are oriented in tape roll or strip with alignment of their upper and lower rectilinear sections with edges of tape roll or strip. Centres of circular arcs forming upper and lower bulges of workpiece contour are located on corresponding straight lines at equal interaxial distance. Middle rectilinear sections of workpiece contour are located at an angle to edges of roll or strip so that lateral contours of adjacent workpieces touch each other at all points.
EFFECT: increased utilization coefficient of sheet metal.
