FIELD: metal forming.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in hot forming of steel forgings elongated in plan view on hammer. From sheet metal, a piece workpiece is obtained with sections for a handle and wrench openings, with shaped contours of opposite sides and a thickening of the end section, on which there is a process performing the function of a castor oil plant. Workpiece is heated in feedthrough inductor to hot forming temperature, oriented in feeder installed at the output of inductor and delivered to the position located parallel to the point of collision of halves of the die installed on the hammer. Workpiece, which is held by the gripper, is moved by the chain mechanism into the working space of the hammer, and the feeder is retracted to the initial position. Then, after the punch is struck on the workpiece, the gripper is withdrawn from the working zone of the hammer to the initial position outside the working zone and released from the forging. Released forging is placed on track conveyor for transportation to trimming press for flash trimming.
EFFECT: as a result, metal consumption of the workpiece is reduced and the design of the cutting die is simplified for its production.
