FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of converting isobutanol by contacting it in a reactor with a catalyst for producing isobutene. Catalyst used is zirconium phosphate containing cobalt ions and pretreated in high-frequency hydrogen plasma, characterized by content of total amount of acid centres of 0.185 mmol/g. Contacting is carried out at temperature of 340–380 °C at an isobutanol feed rate of 20 ml/min with an isobutanol concentration in a mixture with helium of 10 vol.%.
EFFECT: obtaining isobutene with high output and high selectivity when reducing temperature process.
