FIELD: heat exchange.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to evaporative coolers, in particular to cooling towers, and is intended for use in recirculating systems of process water supply in power engineering, chemical, petrochemical, metallurgical and other industries. Tubular cooling tower comprises a housing, a liquid supply manifold, a liquid collection tank, a fan, a water trap located in the upper part of the housing, and air intake openings located in the lower part of the housing. Housing includes a sprinkler consisting of tubular elements installed along the entire height of the sprinkler and fixed in tube plates, which in turn are welded to the housing to form a rigid structure. At the same time tubular elements are fixed in tube plates along tops of equilateral triangles, in the centre of which on tube plates there are holes for passage of cooled liquid through intertube space of sprinkler, besides, diameter of holes is equal to 0.8 of inner diameter of tubular elements. Manifold representing a system of uniform distribution of liquid into tube and intertube spaces of the sprinkler is installed above the sprinkler and is equipped with a nozzle for supply of cooled liquid, and a nozzle for discharge of cooled liquid is located in the liquid collection tank.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of cooling recirculating water by increasing the heat and mass transfer coefficient as a result of greater contact between the cooled liquid and the cooling air both in the intertube space and inside the tubular elements.
