FIELD: agriculture; machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural machine building. Mechanism for opening and closing the fodder harvester engine cooling shield is made in the form of two pneumatic springs (1) fixed on one side on the cowl frame, and on the other side – on engine shield (5) by means of bolted joints (3). To fix the shield in the open position, on both sides of the shield, thrusts (2) are used, fixed on one side on the axis of the cowl frame, and on the other side – on the axis of the engine shield by means of cotter pins (4) and washers. Opening of the shield is performed manually with the help of a handle located on the shield at angle of 0 to 10°. When lifting the shield, pneumatic springs (1) compensate for the force for lifting the weight of the shield. In upper position thrusts (2) are fixed in grooves to prevent self-closing of shield (5).
EFFECT: higher reliability of proposed mechanism due to reduced number of parts and improved consumer properties of fodder harvester and its repairability.
