FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of making a steel capsule for making articles of complex shape from heat-resistant nickel alloys by hot isostatic pressing. It can be used in production of gas turbine engine parts. Preforms are pre-made from alloys of non-ferrous metals, after that, half-molds of a steel capsule with thickness of 2–10 mm are grown by cold gas-dynamic sputtering (CGDS) of steel powder on preforms and steel half-molds are separated from the preforms. Hot isostatic pressing of half-molds of steel capsule is carried out for 2 hours at temperature of 910–930°C and pressure of 100–120 MPa and two half-molds are connected by welding along the contour.
EFFECT: high efficiency of the process of making a steel capsule for articles of complex shape, as well as high accuracy of geometry and quality of the surface of the capsule.
