FIELD: quantum information.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of generating control signals for quantum gates for performing quantum calculations using a variational algorithm for finding eigenvalues of operators. In the method, various states of a set of qubits on a quantum computer expressing a vector, at that, change of state of qubits is implemented by means of quantum gates, control signals to quantum gates are sent from classical computer, which also implements an optimization step for recalculating parameters of control signals to quantum gates, at which the final value of the mathematical expectation of the Hamiltonian of the state of the qubits will be minimum for the problem being solved, wherein the control signals to the quantum gates are sent from a classical computer, on which parameters are recalculated for updating of rotation angles of spins of qubits due to Riemann optimization, which enables to calculate the shortest path to the global minimum of the mathematical expectation of the Hamiltonian of the state of the qubits, wherein at each step, not separate parameters of the control signal are optimized, and its matrices of rotations of qubit vectors, which are considered as a manifold, and reverse conversion to angles of rotation of qubit vectors to form a control signal.
EFFECT: possibility of more efficient generation of control actions on quantum gates.
