FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines. Prechamber internal combustion engine with compression ignition comprises prechamber (1). Prechamber (1) consists of a combustion chamber volume directly in piston (2) and a volume of a special hollow cylindrical separating projection (4) installed in the engine head. Inside separating ledge (4) there is sprayer (8) of the nozzle. Prechamber (1) is communicated with above-piston space (5) through prechamber neck (6). Prechamber neck (6) is closed by separating ledge (4) when piston (2) moves near upper dead point and displacement of air required for combustion into prechamber. There is a narrow annular gap (7) formed by the cylindrical surfaces of projection (4) and neck (6) of the prechamber. Annular gap (7) communicates prechamber (1) and above-piston space (5).
EFFECT: improved ignition and combustion of fuel.
