FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compression ignition internal combustion engines (ICE). The proposed compression ignition ICE comprises combustion chamber arranged inside the cylinder head and communicating with the working cylinder via an opening, a neck, where the ledge of the piston enters with clearance when piston moves to its TDC to form an aid channel. The combustion chamber accommodates a through thermal insert made from heat resistant material eliminating an active thermal contact with the combustion chamber walls. The opening-neck opposite part accommodates the jet to spray fuel into the chamber and onto the thermal insert inner walls. The piston ledge, opening-neck and hollow thermal insert are arranged so that, during the compression stage, the air charge is displaced out from the cylinder via the said air channel inside the thermal insert and combustion chamber walls to form an axial (axial swirled) vortex about the insert wall vertical part. The combustion chamber can have the second jet to spray duplicate fluid fuel and a spark plug arranged in the lateral wall for the engine to be warmed up and started.
EFFECT: reduced heat losses, increased temperature in combustion chamber facilitating combustion time reduction, possibility of using various fluid fuels, higher efficiency and power output.
