FIELD: audio reproduction technique.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to reproduction of multichannel audio with reproduction of elevated or lowered sounds. Disclosed equipment performs panning in two cascades, namely, at least one horizontal interlayer panning leading to a first virtual speaker position and a second virtual or real speaker position, which vertically shifts, and another panning vertically between two positions. Such cascade processing increases stability of rendering and locating a target virtual position. In addition, cascade processing enables to perform, according to an embodiment, panning by using only amplitude panning gains, i.e. phase processing is not required, thereby reducing computational complexity. Further, rendering is flexible with respect to applicability for a plurality of speaker layouts. In addition to equipment for generating loudspeaker signals, methods are also disclosed for generating loudspeaker signals, audio playback systems and computer-readable digital data storage media.
EFFECT: obtaining more efficient rendering of audio objects, which enables three-dimensional panning while providing stability of rendering, high accuracy of panning, efficiency of calculations with a large number of loudspeaker arrangements, a variable number of loudspeakers, changing positions of loudspeakers, changing positions of listeners, changing positions of objects.
