METHOD FOR PREVENTION OF RECURRENT CICATRICAL DEFORMATION OF BLADDER NECK AFTER ENDOSCOPIC REMOVAL OF PROSTATE HYPERPLASIA Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61M25/10 A61K31/573 A61P13/00 

FIELD: medicine; urology.

SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing an anesthetic into urethra 3 weeks after surgical treatment of cicatrical deformation of bladder neck. A drug-coated urethral balloon catheter containing 20–250 mcg of methylprednisolone is inserted into the bladder lumen under transrectal ultrasound control and the balloon is inflated to 2±1 ml. A urethral catheter is inflated to fill the prostate tissue defect and the balloon is kept inflated for 5±1 minutes. Then the balloon is deflated to 2–3 ml, and moved into the lumen of the bladder neck, and localized across the cicatricial ring, the balloon volume is increased until the balloon is deformed in an "hourglass" manner, the balloon is held for 5±1 minutes, then the balloon is deflated and removed. Procedure is repeated until the clinical effect is achieved, namely in course of 6–10 procedures with intervals between sessions of 4–6 weeks.

EFFECT: method enables preventing recurrent cicatrical deformation of the bladder neck with minimal risk and without the need for surgical management.
