FIELD: electric power industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric power engineering, namely to relay protection and automation (RPA) of electrical systems. Result is achieved by a method of relay protection of a power facility using its simulation models in controlled modes of short circuit and in alternative modes by fixing readings of electrical values, converting readings into information features, training relay protection using information features from simulation models and determining characteristics of actuation of relay protection (setting values), information features are generated at each step of observing the short circuit mode, the results of preliminary simulation modelling are entered into the memory unit, performing analogue-to-digital conversion of current and voltage signals with their subsequent digital filtering, as well as by determining parameters of currents and voltages in the form of information features in the mode parameter estimation unit, generating a relay protection actuation signal from the output of the logic unit. According to the proposal, for connecting comparison circuits of unit comparison, a tree structure is selected, and the comparison circuits themselves are divided into intermediate (nodal) and output (leaf) circuits, wherein to inputs of intermediate comparison circuits from the mode parameters estimation unit information signs corresponding to the power facility operation mode are supplied, and the information features switching version and the setting values for the intermediate comparison circuits are set in the form of signals from the outputs of the memory unit, the setting values for the output comparison circuits are set in the form of zero values, signals from the outputs of the output comparison circuits are supplied to the corresponding inputs of the logic unit, the numerical ratio between the intermediate and output comparison circuits, as well as their total number are determined in advance, based on the circuit-mode features of the operation of the power facility.

EFFECT: creation of a method of relay protection, having high recognizing ability of various modes of operation of a power facility.
