SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Outcome of non-ischemic central retinal vein occlusion is predicted by determining prognostically significant data. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) of lachrymal fluid. Indicator of maximum corrected visual acuity (MCVA). Result of the instrumental method of examining the thickness of the retina in fovea centralis. Calculation is carried out by original formula, where: Y is the calculated coefficient, A is the result of studying the thickness of the retina in fovea centralis in 1 week from the onset of the disease, B is the result of the MCVA examination in 1 week from the onset of the disease, C – result of laboratory analysis of VEGF content of lachrymal fluid in 1 week from the beginning of the disease. If the value Y is less than 0.45, then there is a favourable prognosis of the outcome, if the value Y is more than or equal to 0.45, then there is an unfavourable prognosis of the outcome.

EFFECT: method enables predicting the morphofunctional state of the central retinal zone in 3 months from the development of non-ischemic occlusion of the central retinal vein.
