FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for reconditioning of walls (plates) of continuous casting machines (CCM) mold. At least one layer of filler material is applied on working surface of plate from chrome-zirconium bronze and successively performing a series of passes by a rotating welding tool. Additive material from dispersion-hardening chromium-zirconium bronze includes technological filler strips, which are located along the perimeter of the plate at the level with the restored surface, and a filler plate with thickness of 3–10 mm, which is applied on the restored working surface of the mold plate and on the technological filler plates. Welding tool passes are performed with cooling of plate and filler material and with spacing between axes of seams of 0.8–1.0 of average diameter of conical tip of the tool. Beginning and end of each pass are made above technological filler plates. After obtaining the coating, the process filler plates and parts of the filler plate located above them are removed.

EFFECT: method ensures formation on the whole working surface of the worn-out plate of a continuous layer without defects of continuity and oxide interlayers with preservation of heat-conducting properties and provision of hardness not lower than hardness of the restored plate.
