FIELD: wood processing industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of sawn timber and is intended for sawing round timber. Method of sawing timber into equal-size sawn timber includes preliminary processing to a workpiece in the form of a hexagonal prism for further sawing of the obtained intermediate bars-workpieces into lumber of the same size. Formation of cross section in the form of hexagon is performed by sawing slab (1) from log at its turn 6 times by 60°. In the obtained workpiece in the form of a hexagonal prism, three longitudinal radial cuts are made to the central axis by successive turns of workpiece through 120° to obtain three identical bars in the form of a parallelepiped with a cross section in the form of rhombus (2) and with the same cross dimensions. Further, each of the above bars is sawn into boards of the same size.

EFFECT: higher yield during sawing round timber.
