FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention is applicable at stationary combined gas turbine plants, bladed machines of continuous action, gas turbine engines, at power plants, at conversion of thermal energy into useful mechanical energy. So thermal energy obtained as a result of fuel combustion in compressed atmospheric air, forms heated working gas, which in process of real isothermal expansion produces the main part of useful work in gas turbine, on output from it gives the remaining heat energy to obtain additional useful energy in steam-turbine cycle and/or for heating of atmospheric air before it enters the combustion chamber of the gas turbine.

EFFECT: method is implemented in accordance with given values of isothermal coefficient, id est ratio of actual adiabatic expansion or compression process values and corresponding isothermal process at equal inlet temperatures and equal expansion or compression degrees, as well as polytropes, providing real processes as sufficiently close to isothermal, with obtaining a significant effect, which enables to have a significant increase in the efficiency of the gas turbine plant.
