FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method for operation is intended for use in gas turbine power units when converting thermal energy into electricity at thermal power plants operating on all, including solid, types of fuels, and on nuclear power plants with a level of temperature of heat removal from the primary circuit of at least 700 K, raising the efficiency due to the more rational arrangement of working processes. The characterising feature of the method for operation consists in the thermal energy source being distanced from the turbine operating in the mode of actual isothermal working gas expansion as close as possible to the ideal expansion, in accordance with the set isothermality coefficient value of at least 0.9. The basis of the method for operation is a closed Ericsson cycle supplemented by an open Brayton cycle utilising air from the external environment. With the compression ratio of the basic cycle compressor equals 3, additional cycle compressor — 2, and the working gas heating temperature in the heat source equals 1,200 K, the performance coefficient of the unit reaches 61.5% if exhaust heat is absent, and raises up to 65% if present in the amount of 10% of the working gas flow rate in the basic cycle. The actuality of the processes was considered from the indicators of the compression polytrope 1.45 and the expansion polytrope 1.35, the temperature difference at the hot end of the primary heat exchanger 10 K, hydraulic losses 0.1 atm, the temperature of working gas at the entry to the main heat exchanger 325 K and the environment 300 K.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of operation.
