SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image encoding means. Reconstructed sample value is obtained for the image block. Filter coefficients are obtained for adaptive contour filtering in accordance with the bit stream. Sum value is obtained by performing the summation operation according to the filter coefficients and the restored sample value for the block. Value of the sum is rounded in accordance with the vertical position of the sample in the block to obtain the rounded value of the sum, wherein the vertical position of the sample in the block is the position of the brightness sample. Rounded value of the sum satisfies a certain expression: sum = curr + ((sum + roundY) >> alfShiftY); where sum on the left side of the expression is the rounded value of the sum, where y is the vertical position of the sample, roundY is different from alfShiftY. Filter-reconstructed sample value for the block is obtained in accordance with the rounded sum value.
EFFECT: high efficiency of encoding images.
