FIELD: video technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of encoding video signals, in particular to methods for performing unblocking of recovered video data. The expected result is achieved by the fact that the method for filtering the recovered video data includes: receiving an edge type variable indicating whether the vertical or horizontal edge is filtered; obtaining the maximum filter length based on the edge type variable; and performing deblocking filtering for the current block based on the maximum filter length.
EFFECT: increase in coding efficiency.
