FIELD: materials science.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to materials science and can be used in studying the structural state of graphite-containing samples in form of plates or sheet material. Structural state of the sample is investigated in layers. Facing of the analysed surfaces of the sample is carried out by tight fixation of the adhesive tape on the surface in the sample preceding the analysed layer and normal adhesive tearing of one layer of the sample from the other, which is used for analysis. Further, the faced surface is ground by circular rotational motions with a soft pad of fingers using a wetting reagent, which is distilled water. Direction of the circular motion and the pads of the fingers are periodically changed, while simultaneously cleaning the surface from facing products. Surface is then polished in a circular motion in the forward and reverse directions until a visually smooth surface is obtained with detection of structural elements in the flat image. Investigation of the structural state of the next layer of the sample is carried out in an optical microscope in light and dark fields.
EFFECT: higher quality of analysed surface of samples.
