FIELD: acoustic measurements.

SUBSTANCE: non-contact density control of sheets of thermally expanded graphite. Method consists of several pairs of transmitting and receiving acoustic sensors installed coaxially along the width of the rolled sheet of thermally expanded graphite on different sides, measurement of the amplitude of the acoustic pulse transmitted through the sheet, determination of the density of the material at the location of the sensors in accordance with the calibration graph of dependence of signal parameters on density obtained by direct gravimetric method, then, according to the results of determining the current density, the operating parameters of manufacturing are corrected, said parameters determine the density of the produced sheet of thermally expanded graphite, before starting the measurement, the first stage is carried out, that is, preliminary normalization of the sensitivity of the channels of the reference sample. The device for controlling the material density of sheets of thermally expanded graphite contains several transmitting acoustic sensors, the inputs of which are connected to the output of the pulse generator, several receiving sensors, the outputs of which are connected to the inputs of amplifiers, peak detectors that store the signal value in the form of a DC voltage level coming through the channel selector into the information processing unit containing the ADC and the controller that provides control over the control process, including the modes and scheme of scanning the object.

EFFECT: increased accuracy and reliability of control of density of sheets of thermally expanded graphite, increased functionality due to expansion of the range of controlled densities and thicknesses of sheets of thermally expanded graphite.
