SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to pharmaceutical industry, namely to a preparation for treating Helicobacter pylori infection in humans. Herbal preparation for treating Helicobacter pylori infection in humans, produced by mixing of essential oils from plants Satureja hortensis L., Origanum vulgare L. ssp. hirtum and Thymus vulgaris L. in ratio 2:1:1, as well as containing the following components, expressed as a percentage of the total peak area on the GC/MS chromatogram: carvacrol from 35% to 50%, γ-terpinene from 10% to 25%, thymol from 10% to 25%, p-cymene from 10% to 20%, wherein the herbal preparation is intended for oral administration. Method of treating a gastric infection with Helicobacter pylori in a subject, involving the oral administration to the subject of a therapeutically effective amount of the herbal preparation according to cl. 1 containing essential oils Satureja hortensis L., Origanum vulgare L. ssp. hirtum and Thymus vulgaris L. in ratio: 2:1:1. Method of preparing said herbal preparation, comprising the following steps: collecting aerial parts of plants Satureja hortensis L., Origanum vulgare ssp. hirtum L. and Thymus vulgaris L. in flowering phase to obtain collected plant material; drying of the collected plant material in air at temperature of 25–30 °C to obtain dried plant material; milling the dried plant material to obtain a milled material; obtaining essential oils from crushed material; drying essential oils with anhydrous sodium sulphate; removing sulphate from essential oils by filtration and mixing the essential oils to obtain the herbal preparation described above, wherein essential oils are mixed Satureja hortensis L., Origanum vulgare ssp. hirtum L. and Thymus vulgaris L. in ratio of 2:1:1, respectively.

EFFECT: above-described preparation has a special chemical profile, is highly effective for elimination of Helicobacter pylori infection in humans.
