SUBSTANCE: invention is related to a device for heating a smoking material, such as tobacco, for the purpose of vaporizing at least one component of the smoking material, and to systems comprising such a device and a smoking material article used in conjunction with the device. A device for heating a smoking material to vaporize at least one component of the smokable material comprises a heating zone for receiving an article containing the smoking material and a heating material capable of being heated by a varying magnetic field penetrating therein and heating the smoking material; and a magnetic field generator for creating a magnetic field varying in magnitude penetrating into the heating zone, comprising a magnetically permeable first core and the first coil and a magnetically permeable second core and the second coil. The first core contains a magnetically permeable first part. The first coil is wound around the first portion of said core. The second core contains a magnetically permeable first part. The second coil is wound around the first part of the second core.
