FIELD: paper.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to paper and, in particular, to banknotes. Fibrous substrate obtained by the wet method contains 40–96 wt.%, by dry weight, of fibres, in particular cellulose fibres, 1–20 wt.%, by dry weight, of at least one anionic polymer, 0.5–5 wt.%, in terms of dry weight, of at least one cationic precipitating agent and 0.001–1%, in terms of dry weight, of at least one biocidal agent. Anionic polymer has a glass transition temperature higher than −40 °C and is present in a deposited form on the surface of the fibre. Invention also relates to a method of producing a fibrous substrate.
EFFECT: higher resistance to creasing and contamination.
