FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in processing steel in an induction furnace. Proposed method comprises melting charge, feeding fluid slag and blowing metal with inert gas. At liquid metal temperature of 1,620 °C and guiding liquid slag from lime and vermiculite in ratio of 2:1 metal is continuously blown with argon for 15–20 minutes at an argon pressure of 1.0–1.5 atm, then a deoxidizer is supplied and the metal is pulsed with argon for 5–7 minutes, note here that number of pulses per minute equals 3–4 at argon pressure of 1.0–1.5 atm. After metal blowing is completed, metal is removed into mold combined with supply of argon to liquid metal jet.
EFFECT: invention enables to refine steel in the volume of an induction furnace to reduce non-metallic inclusions and increase the level of degassing of the obtained steel.
