FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, in particular to production of steel in arc steel-making furnaces. Procedure consists in melting steel in furnace, tapping steel into steel ladle at temperature 1,620-steel 1,690 °C for 3–6 minutes, during tapping, calcium carbide is added in amount of 0.1–3.0 kg per ton of steel in steel tanks, containing calcium carbide in amount of 5–30 kg with fractional composition of not more than 30 mm, silicon and manganiferous ferroalloys are fed in amount of up to 50 kg per ton of steel, lime in quantity up to 12 kg per ton of steel, after that, steel is fed for further off-furnace treatment. During tapping of steel into steel-casting ladle it is blown with argon with flow rate of 0.1–15 m3/h and additive fluorspar in amount of 1–5 kg per ton of steel.
EFFECT: invention allows improves fixation of calcium carbide in steel and steel quality, and reduces cost of its production.
