FIELD: various technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a plant for continuous production of acetic anhydride by pyrolysis of acetone. Plant includes an evaporation tank and a metal reactor for pyrolysis of acetone, a refrigerator for condensation of unreacted acetone from a mixture of gases containing ketene, a return line for condensed unreacted acetone into the evaporation tank, low-temperature refrigerator for complete condensation of unreacted acetone, separator for removal of condensed acetone and formation of gaseous mixture enriched with ketene, an absorption vessel for absorption of ketene with liquid acetic acid to obtain a solution of acetic anhydride in acetic acid and a stream of exhaust gases, wherein the reactor is heated by an induction heater, reactor is equipped with inner reaction space and metal walls, which can be heated under action of variable magnetic field generated by induction heater.

EFFECT: provision of a new installation for continuous production of acetic anhydride by pyrolysis of acetone, with the possibility of effective heating of vapours of the reagent subjected to pyrolysis in a given temperature range, at stable operation in continuous mode for a long time with simple design, which provides high efficiency and energy efficiency of the pyrolysis process.
