FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to chemical engineering, specifically to an apparatus for continuous production of paracetamol by acylation of para-aminophenol with acetic anhydride, obtained in situ by pyrolysis of acetone, as well as to a method for continuous production of paracetamol from para-aminophenol on said plant. Proposed plant includes a unit for producing acetic anhydride by pyrolysis of acetone, a circulation circuit for preparing a solution of para-aminophenol in acetic acid, a circulating circuit for acylation of para-aminophenol, a cooling and crystallisation circuit, a continuous-action separating device for separating solid paracetamol and a container for storing the mother solution.
EFFECT: providing an apparatus for producing paracetamol, which enables to perform combined continuous production of acetic anhydride by pyrolysis of acetone and acylation of para-aminophenol, with the possibility of efficient heating of vapours of the reagent to be pyrolysed in a given temperature range, and characterized by stability of operation in continuous mode for a long time and effective mixing, which ensures improved heat and mass exchange of the acylation reaction mixture, with simple design, providing high efficiency and energy efficiency.
