SUBSTANCE: echo sounder relates to hydroacoustic systems for determining depth and can be used for automatic detection of echoes of the bottom and measurement of depth with high reliability. Device comprises a unit for calculating a fixed threshold taking into account the level of noise interfering with the operation of the echo sounder, a unit for calculating a tracking threshold, units for amplitude selection of echo signals, selection of echo signals by duration, selection of echo signals by multiplicity.

EFFECT: high reliability of depth measurement results.
