FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to instrumentation and can be used for determination of total axial clearance in rotary support devices. Method for determining the total axial clearance in the rotary support device, including the installation of the rotary support device in a horizontal position with its outer fixed ring resting on the outer ring of the faceplate, wherein the fixed ring of the support-rotary device is pressed by the L-shaped clamps to the outer ring of the faceplate, the supports on the magnetic base are installed on the inner ring on both sides diametrically opposite to each other, indicator probes are brought to contact with the end surface of the movable ring of the support-rotary device, the faceplate is locked with a retainer, the frame is turned through angle of 180° with the help of a drive in any direction.
EFFECT: reliable and accurate measurements of total axial clearance in large-size rotary support devices.
