SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electric power engineering and machine building and is intended for removal of damaged ends of conductors of wires, cables and ropes. Method of cutting elements protruding from the surface of a long-length object consists in the fact that a UAV equipped with a means for moving along the wire is installed on the long-length object. A support is installed on the front part of the UAV housing, on which the coaxial inner and outer cylinders are fixed using longitudinal slots with cutting edges. Cylinders are equipped with cutting teeth, one of cylinders is made with possibility of rotation. After the cylinders are mounted on the object, one of the cylinders is rotated, which leads to displacement of the cutting teeth and slots with cutting edges relative to each other, as a result of which the projecting element is cut off. Device for cutting elements protruding from surface of long object contains the UAV equipped with means for movement along wire.
EFFECT: invention enables remote removal of damaged conductors on wires, ropes and ropes.
