FIELD: heat power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat engineering, in particular, to external combustion engines of rotary type. Proposed device for conversion of thermal energy into mechanical energy contains two rotor pairs (3 and 4), each of which is placed in its own stator (1 and 2). Paired rotors of both pairs come in contact with each other with possibility of rotation with the same angular speed. Inlet (6) and outlet (7) openings for working gas inlet and outlet are located in the middle of side walls of stators (1 and 2). Heater (8) is connected to inlet hole (6) of upper stator (2), to which supply channel (9) of Z-shape is connected, the opposite end of which is connected to outlet hole (7) of lower stator (1). Outlet channel (10) of Z-shape connects outlet hole (7) of upper stator (2) with inlet hole (6) of lower stator (1). Straight-line sections of supply (9) and discharge (10) channels are placed in heat exchanger (11) located between stators (1 and 2). Upper stator (2) is covered with heat insulation, lower stator (1) is equipped with ribs for intensification of its cooling. Upper (4) and lower (3) rotors are made in the form of gears with teeth of involute profile of the same diameter and are rigidly connected in pairs by shafts (5). Width of toothed rims of upper rotors (4) exceeds width of toothed rims of lower rotors (3) by value proportional to temperature difference of working gas at inlet of upper stator (2) and at outlet of lower stator (1).
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing thermal efficiency of the proposed device.
