FIELD: electrical measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: result is achieved due to high sensitivity of the used ferroprobe converter of magnetic field of pipeline currents with a single-element ring-type core closed around the pipeline, mounted in the area of welding point on the pipe, having a measuring winding and an excitation winding. Before installation of the ferroprobe converter, the readings of the values of the ferroprobe converter are calibrated against the cathodic protection current flowing along the controlled section of the pipeline without interaction with currents of corrosive galvanic pairs.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of measurement of strength and direction of current of corrosive galvanic pairs formed on surface of metal pipelines at contact with electrolyte surrounding pipeline, interacting with current of cathodic protection, flowing along controlled section of pipeline.
