FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a reactor for producing hydrogen cyanide (HCN) by the Andrussow method. Reactor comprises a reactor tank, at least one gas feed that flows into the gas feed area, a catalyst and a reaction product discharge. Discharge of reaction products comprises bundles of tubes intended for heat exchange between reaction products entering tubes and coolant flow circulating through tube space. Tube bundles are equipped with upper and lower tube plates and transverse partitions. Upper and lower tube plates have central section made free of tubes. Discharge of reaction products is equipped with at least two injection devices configured to inject additional flow of said coolant under the upper tube plate. Near the reactor tank there is a protection of the upper tube plate and tubes against thermal effect on the side of reaction products.
EFFECT: high reliability of the reactor for producing hydrogen cyanide by the Andrussow method while maintaining its efficiency.
