FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical engineering, specifically to a method of producing high-purity hydrazine with a level of impurities acceptable for use as fuel, and an apparatus for implementing said method. Method involves preparation of a mixture of carbohydrazide, sodium hydroxide and water in an inert gas atmosphere, evacuation to a residual pressure of 3 to 20 mm Hg, heating the mixture to temperature of 30-50 °C and separating hydrazine by distillation from the resulting mixture of sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, water and hydrazine.
EFFECT: providing a method and apparatus for producing a high-purity end product with a level of impurities which is acceptable for use as fuel from a safe starting material – carbohydrazide.
