SUBSTANCE: invention relates to Russian national stringed musical instruments from the zither family, which is a resonator body with 5 to 20 strings stretched over it, and forming, as a rule, a diatonic scale. Gusli with a floating soundboard and a damper comprises a hollow body with strings fixed between a string stand and rotary tuning pegs, as well as a top soundboard and a damper located under the strings, wherein they are equipped with a liquid filler of the hollow body and a floating element, the housing has the shape of a hemisphere, semi-oval, semi-ellipse or semi-cylinder, the upper soundboard is made of wood or dense plastic with a recess in the form of a cone or sphere, and the damper is represented by felt or bristle and is installed on the upper soundboard fixed on the floating element, with the possibility of limited movement inside the hollow body along the surface of the liquid filler of the body relative to the strings when it is inclined.

EFFECT: simplified damper.
