SUBSTANCE: invention relates to Russian national stringed musical instruments from the family of zithers, which are a resonator body with 5 to 20 strings stretched over it, and forming, as a rule, a diatonic scale. Gusli with a damper comprises a hollow body, with strings fixed between a bridge and rotary tuning pegs, as well as a damper located under the strings, wherein they are equipped with a damper chamber, the damper is represented by a liquid agent, the housing has the shape of a hemisphere, semi-oval, semi-ellipse or semi-cylinder, wherein the damping chamber is installed on the housing with the possibility of communication between the inner cavity of the housing and the damping chamber, liquid agent is poured into the inner cavity of the housing with possibility of its movement into the damping chamber and overlapping parts of the strings with the liquid agent when the housing is inclined towards the damping chamber.

EFFECT: simplification of the gusli damper.
