FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to investigation of properties of porous media and can be used to establish filtration coefficient of soils depending on pressure value and properties of impregnating liquid, as well as rate of impregnation of other porous media. Device for determining the filtration coefficient of soils includes a vertical container with an impregnating liquid, a cylindrical metal holder with a perforated bottom and two embedded brass grids, a sample of the analysed soil placed in the holder between the brass grids, a connecting coupling, a plank with a pressure gradient scale, in which the cage is tightly connected to a hollow steel cylinder equipped with a threaded tight cover, in which a hollow rod is rigidly installed vertically. On the upper end of the hollow rod there is a hermetically installed coupling connecting the cavity of the rod to the atmosphere by a flexible air-conducting hose with a linear marking, which is attached to the coupling. At the lower end of the hollow rod, a threaded bushing made of dielectric material is installed, on which there are two opposite flat metal plates that are not in contact with each other and are equally inclined in the vertical plane at angle of 45 degrees, which are connected by insulated wires into an electric circuit with a power supply, a signal element and a toggle switch. In the space between the metal plates and the holder with the analysed sample, a spherical float with an electroconductive outer surface is placed with provision for free movement in said space, outer diameter of which is maximally close to inner diameter of cylindrical housing rigidly connected to the plank of the pressure gradient scale.
EFFECT: creation of a new device for determination of filtration coefficient of sandy soils, and other soils and porous media in laboratory and field conditions.
