FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction and is intended for determining water permeability of soils subject to mechanical colmatation, and can be used in engineering-geological and engineering-environmental surveys. Filtration device includes a sleeve for a sample, a base, a housing, a cover, perforated or mesh discs and a rod, the sleeve consists of a cage and split rings from an elastic material inserted into it, for sequential placement of which there is a cavity in the cover, the cylindrical housing is corrugated and its inner diameter is more than three times greater than the outer diameter of the cage, and in the base there is an annular cavity intended for immersion of the cage. Effect and depth of soil colmatation are determined by layer-by-layer measurement of the filtration coefficient. For this purpose, the cage is moved downwards by means of the cover of the device. Rings from elastic material are sequentially opened. Soil in the upper part of the sample is cut off layer by layer while the cover of the device is displaced in the horizontal plane.

EFFECT: prevention of sample compaction due to action of friction forces on its side surface; removal of a part of the sample during tests does not require draining of liquid from the device and opening its cover, which considerably reduces time consumption.
