FIELD: computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automation and computer engineering, in particular to testers (devices) for checking multicore cable (bundle). Purpose of the invention is to simplify the device and broaden its functional capabilities. Device comprises a first indication microprocessor, a first and a second indication unit, a mode switch, a "start" pulse former, an operation "continuation" pulse former, "record" pulse shaper, "program" switch, stop indicator, buzzer, probe, "program" indicator, first and second load resistors, second control and analysis microprocessor, "ready" indicator, interface unit, third switching microprocessor, selection indicator and selection unit. Device consists of two parts and allows to check multicore cables or bundles already laid in closed channels, besides, on indication units and external device, which is connected through corresponding connector, complete picture of state of control object is provided (short circuit, break, mixed, special connection), wherein, during tester initialisation, microprocessors programmed according to a certain algorithm enable to extract two wires from the tested bundle for use as a data exchange line between the main and remote units. To check a bundle with a large number of wires, the blocks are built up in blocks. Main unit can be structurally made in the form of a probe.
EFFECT: simpler design of the tester and broader functional capabilities.
