FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to extraction of vanadium. Process of obtaining a vanadium compound involves preparing metavanadate and ammonium polyvanadate, with further use thereof, to obtain vanadium pentoxide of high purity. Dissolve ammonium metavanadate (NH4VO3) or ammonium polyvanadate (NH4)2V6O16 in alkali (NaOH), heated to dissolve to form a large amount of ammonia (NH3). Thermal separation of ammonia and water is carried out. PH is adjusted with the help of an acid, wherein ammonia is supplied to the recovery column, and part of ammonia forms metal ammonium (NH+4) under action of acid. Ammonium metavanadate is washed with protective ammonium (NH+4) with water (R), followed by spraying with pure water to obtain high-purity ammonium metavanadate, after which it is sintered at temperature of 40–60 °C. Ammonium metavanadate is converted to vanadium pentoxide in furnace at 450–550 °C. Ammonium (NH+4) in ammonium metavanadate is converted to ammonia at high temperature.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain high-purity vanadium pentoxide, while reducing exhaust gas emissions and efficient purification of waste water.
