SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lighting engineering and can be used to illuminate streets, roads, tunnels, industrial facilities, household premises and other facilities. LED luminaire includes a heat removal device - a radiator, a light-emitting diode board with light-emitting diodes fixed on its outer surface and a housing with a diffuser. At the same time, the heat removal device is made multilayer, includes upper and lower plates with applied heat-conducting layer, by means of which cellular filler is mounted between plates, made in the form of a set of hollow elements - cells in the form of cylinders or polyhedrons, which are in contact with each other by their lateral sides, the height of which is made from 0.5 to 1000.0 diameters of the cell base, the area of the filler is made equal to 0.5–1.0 of the plate area. Plates and cellular filler are made from heat-conducting material, for example, from copper or aluminium, and board with light-emitting diodes is mounted on upper plate, thickness of plates is made equal to 0.5 to 40 mm, an additional heat-conducting layer of thermal paste can be applied on top of the upper plate, the heat-conducting layer on the plates is made of hot melt adhesive.

EFFECT: creation of a reliable design of a luminaire, with stable and effective heat removal, due to a large area for removal and dissipation of heat and simultaneous creation of a multilayer temperature distribution in the radiator.
