SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in liquidation of technogenic hydrates in systems of extraction, collection, preparation, transportation and processing of hydrocarbons, as well as in extraction of gas from natural hydrates. Method of dissociating a hydrate by exposing it to a reagent consisting of one or more anhydrate components, involves determination of thermobaric parameters of the medium surrounding the hydrate, and supply of the reagent for contact with it. Additionally determining: concentration and temperature of reagent before its supply, temperature of decrystallization of hydrate lattice, freezing point of the aqueous solution of the reagent obtained as a result of the hydrate dissociation process, after which the reagent is supplied at a flow rate that provides the required rate of hydrate dissociation, calculated by formula where W is the rate of decomposition of the hydrate, kg/s; L is consumption of initial reagent, kg/s; X is the weight fraction of the anhydrate components in the reagent; C is the heat capacity of the reagent, J/(kg·K); Thd is hydration lattice decrystallization temperature, K; Tfr is the freezing point of the aqueous solution of the reagent obtained as a result of the hydrate dissociation process, K; Th is temperature of the medium surrounding the hydrate, K; H is specific energy of hydrate dissociation, J/kg.
