FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical surveillance systems used in submarine periscopes. Disclosed device of the ocular part of the periscope consists of a prism rhombus-beam splitter and a simple prism-rhombus, which are located between the optical element-shaper of parallel light flux in the ocular part of the periscope and eyepieces of the periscope, which form a quasi-binocular scheme. Rhombus-beam splitter prism has a mechanical switch, which is a drive with a retainer, which enables to output the rhombus-beam splitter prism from the light flux of the optical element-shaper of the parallel light flux, thereby switching the eyepiece system to the monocular mode, return of the rhombus-beam splitter prism to the reverse position restores the quasi-binocular mode.
EFFECT: increased range of identification of coloured navigation lights of surface objects in night conditions.
